December 2010 Frolicking Fae

By Terri C.

Using the Messages from the Wee Folk

As I write this, my favorite day, Thanksgiving has come and gone.   My Halloween/Thanksgiving decorations are down and the Christmas/Yule decorations are slowly making there way up.  We had a slight dilemma and my middle daughter has saved the Christmas Tree.  After about 15 years, our tree lights finally gave out last year as I was taking them off the tree.  My hubby and I have been searching for about two weeks for the right lights to buy.  Do we go LED or get incandescent?  I’ve always been partial to chasing lights, and there was not one store in our town that had any-- LED or incandescent.  Hubby was set on LED lights.  So I had given in to the fact that we were going to have to put up constant “on” lights and then maybe find a control box later.  We went back to town and there were no small LED lights ANYWHERE!  Finally, I announced “That’s it, I’m not putting up a tree this year.”  That is when Sara came to the rescue.  She arrived at our house last night with box upon box of lights.  Needless to say, our tree is now up in its normal spot and looks very pretty, even though the lights are “on” and not twinkling, we are all satisfied.

The first part of the month it’s important to put a little bit of your focus on yourself.  It’s going to be a busy month and we know that time seems to go faster as we come closer to the end of the year and so much of this month is spent focusing on others.  We are all running from here to there, trying to find the perfect gift, sending out holiday cards, attending parties, having parties, cooking, cleaning, etc.  Let this serve as a gentle reminder to take some time out for yourself.  Remind yourself what you are good at and treat yourself to something special.  Think about your goals for next year.  Believe in yourself-- the Faeries do!

The first part of the month is also a time to work on your affirmations.  What are you trying to accomplish, what are you trying to bring in to your life?  Think about how you mentally feed your body.  Check your inner dialog.  Are you nourishing yourself or are you chipping away at your self-worth?

Towards the middle of the month the Fae want you to focus on what you do have instead of what you don’t.  This is crunch time, when it comes to the holidays, don’t worry about not having enough presents under the tree, it’s not really about the physical number or gifts, it is supposed to be about the thought of giving.  That you thought enough to give that person a part of you. Sometimes a hug or a plate of cookies will fill the bill.

This is also a time where you need to be open to the practice of receiving.  Many of us are just not good at being open to receive, whether it is a gift, a kind word, or a compliment.  Think about it this way.  Have you ever offered something from your heart to another person and they decline?  How do you feel when that happens?  Now, flip that around, how do you feel when you offer something from your heart and that person accepts?  Try not to deny the other person the opportunity to feel “that.”

As the month rounds out with the holidays, and the New Year right around the corner, stay true to yourself and your belief system.  If this time of year is difficult for you, which for many it is, take special care of you.  Find comfort and quiet where you can.  Visualize a really good day, remember what you felt like and try to carry that with you.

Remember, you are a shining star that has light and love to share with those around you.

A nice stone to carry with you this month is Blue Goldstone.

FaeStone

This particular stone is man-made and it’s said that alchemist monks created it while trying to make gold.  It is infused with copper sparkles, a powerful energy generator.  It is wonderful for positive energy, renewing strength, encourages faith, can induce happy thoughts.  It is a lucky stone, great for providing composure, excellent for lifting depression, easing aches and pains.  It is also great for anxiety.  This is a stone of wisdom and science, teaching us to reach for the stars, and reminding us of the light within darkness.

As always, I hope you find that this message from the Fae helps guide you through the ups and downs of this month!!  Remember to say a special little thank you to our Fae Friends for the guidance, insight and entertainment!

See you again, next month and keep the faith!
