January 2011 Frolicking Fae

By Terri C.

using the Oracle of Shadows & Light

As I sit down to write the article for this month, the New Year has come and we are in the shadow of the New Moon.  We still have snow on the ground and the skies are battleship gray.  All is quiet outside except for the chirps of my winter birds and an occasional train whistle off in the distance.  What an amazing day!

“Amazing?” you might ask, “but what is so special about today?”  I say AMAZING because today is a new day, like every day and it offers me the opportunity to re-write my plan, observe my path, alter anything that is no longer serving me and simply to begin again.  Yep, I say AMAZING!

The Fae are constantly reminding me of the message, “Be careful what you wish for…”  It’s so very important to remember that we are so very capable of creating our lives around us, that we realize that we do have choices.  We can choose to bring in things that are positive and things that help us move forward on our path or we can choose to bring in roadblocks and stumble our way through, just based on how we feed ourselves.

The Fae encourage you to take a look at your self-talk over the next couple of days.  Do you feed the positive side of you or the negative?  Where should you make some adjustments?  Start with a simple post-it-note on your bathroom mirror that reads, “I Love You.”  Then read it every day--every time you pass in front of the mirror, stop and tell yourself, “I Love You.”  You will find that after a couple of weeks, this simple step can really turn things around for you.

This is also a time of goal setting and resolutions.  Try to be realistic with this task.  It’s great to have grand goals for off in the future, but what about those baby-step goals, the things that you need to do right now, the things that set the course for those grand goals.  Start with where you see yourself next week, next month, six months.  Have you written your goals and desires out?  Have you created a dream or vision board?  Then remember, if you fall short of your goal, all is not lost, simply brush yourself off and begin again.  …And remember, count your blessings, be grateful for what you do have, in order to receive more!

The Fae want us to acknowledge some of the strange things that have been occurring in nature, for example the sudden death of so many birds and fish, Arkansas.  While we wait for the scientists and news media to put their spin on these stories the Fae ask that you take a look around you.  What can you do on a personal, local level to make changes that will benefit every living thing?  Can you drive less, perhaps carpool?  Can you reduce, reuse and recycle in any way?  Can you spend an afternoon cleaning up around your neighborhood or local park?  Maybe plant a tree?  Sometimes it’s the all of the little things done by many people that really pay off.  We really all must learn to tread lightly on our planet.

A good stone to carry this month is Hematite.

Hematite

This stone grounds and protects us.  It has a very strong connection to earth, which gives the wearer a sense of being safe and secure.  It is an excellent stone for the mind, it helps with concentration and focus.  It’s also an excellent stone to be worn by writers as it helps with original thought.

This stone will also serve to protect the wearer from negative energy from others.  An all around nice protection stone.

As always, I hope you find that this message from the Fae helps guide you through the ups and downs of this month!!  Remember to say a special little thank you to our Fae Friends for the guidance, insight and entertainment!

See you again, next month and keep the faith!
