There are raindrops falling on the ground. Listen to the rain until you feel at peace. As you do this, close your eyes.

Sunset is beginning at the ocean’s edge. You are wearing an aquamarine jacket because of the chilly ocean breeze. You can smell the rain coming again. Your heart is filled with what feelings? You look down at three once-beautiful cups half buried in the sand. What did these cups contain for you? Do you feel discarded like these cups?

If you spend your time avoiding your feelings, especially the heavier ones of fear, anger, jealously, grief, pain. Embrace it now. Give in to your feelings, ride this out.

You now walk along the shore, seeing the dark rain clouds sailing in. The ocean waves are getting higher. As a particularly big wave comes in, you go toward it. As the Ocean leaves her bounty of shells, pebbles, beach glass, you see two silver cups left behind. What does this gift of the Ocean mean? What is being brought in to offset those heavier feelings?

You can stay here at the Ocean’s edge as long as you wish. When you’re ready, just open your eyes back to your reality. Write down your journey with the five of cups. In the next two weeks, try to embrace the feelings you run from and see how this can help you deal better with your emotions.
